Who We Are

Founded by Nick Alan and Tom Kendall, who have worked in the entertainment industry for over 30 years, creating, developing, and producing various stage, television, and film productions.

Initially based out of Los Angeles, they have now expanded to Las Vegas and will soon be in Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

With an extensive background in theater, they previously owned the Tamarind Theater and Actors Studio for nearly 20 years, which is currently known as UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade). During their ownership of the Tamarind, they produced over 250 plays and musicals, involving more than 2500 writers, directors, actors, dancers, designers, and producers. They mounted over 75 world premieres and produced over 400 productions.

The Tamarind had the pleasure of working with renowned theater figures such as Sir John Neville, Hattie Winston, Ron Glass, Charles Nelson Reilly, Ben Stiller, George Furth, Angelina Fordellisi, Nora Dunn, Sanaa Lathan, Paige O'Hara, Richard Kline, John Cusak, Jasime Guy, Jeremy Renner, and Barry Levinson.

Their patrons included Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, Mel Brooks, Sidney Poitier, Carl Reiner, Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Ann-Margret, Kevin Costner, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Loni Anderson, Burt Reynolds, Governor Pete Wilson, and Hillary Clinton. They also had the honor of hosting President Reagan and Mrs. Reagan.

They received awards and acknowledgments from various critics, including the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, NAACP, the Governor's Media Access Award, and the prestigious Theater Arts Award from the Hollywood Arts Council. Their work revitalized a historic area of Hollywood located below the iconic Hollywood sign.

Tom Kendall, after receiving fine arts degrees from The University of Evansville, Indiana, and FSU/A solo Conservatory in Sarasota, Florida, and attending Juilliard in NYC, moved to Los Angeles. Along with two Emmy Awards, he co-founded The Picture Shop and became the President of Ghost VFX, a division of Streamland Media, currently known as the world's largest Post Production Company.

Nick Alan, formerly a television and film agent in NYC and Los Angeles, is also a multi-dimensional entertainment creator. His credits include being a TV talk show host in "Putting on The Ritz" and a former director under Miss USA/Universe. He has also worked as one of LA's top fashion photographers, acknowledged in the best-selling book "How to be a Working Actor" written by Mari Lynn Henry, a former Head of ABC Daytime Casting. While at The Tamarind, Nick was able to write, direct, and produce award-winning equity waiver theatrical productions that were later aired on HBO and Showtime Networks. He has made guest appearances on "Entertainment Tonight," "The Tonight Show," "David Letterman," "Extra," "The Today Show," and has been featured in People Magazine. Currently, he is involved in the creative management of various talents as well as the development of stage, television, and film projects with Kendall/Alan Entertainment Productions.
